In examining this request, we note that the requestor suggested that CMS reassign open concomitant surgical ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation (AF) from MS-DRGs 219, 220, and 221 (Cardiac Valve and Other Major Cardiothoracic Procedures without Cardiac Catheterization with MCC, with CC, and without CC/MCC, respectively) to MS-DRGs 216, 217 and 218 for FY 2024, however, as discussed in the FY 2023 IPPS/LTCH PPS final rule, MS-DRGs 216, 217 and 218 are defined by the performance of cardiac catheterization
