A selection of small ferments was made from parcels of fruit harvested in some younger vines planted in 2006 on a high ironstone rocky ridge in the ironstone “coffee rock” - the classic soil from the Frankland Estate property

so it’s blended with Riesling and Pinot Gris to create a flavoursome wine with a balanced natural acidity

dry grown Grenache (78%) and Cinsault (22%) vineyards

the wine is deliciously fresh and vibrant

there is balance

Mouth coating and chewy in texture with flavours of plums and blackberries with a hint of vanilla. The tannins are discreet and the finish warm and ripe. Try with a leg of lamb marinated with garlic and juniper berries, a crusty baguette with tapenade or a plate of prosciutto and olives.
