1960s Completely Covered Cabochon and Beaded Belt designer-john-galliano Made entirely of hand painted

Made entirely of hand painted silk chiffon with a satin sash

Double ties are attached on either side of the skirt waist and can be left hanging

You can just imagine the original fabulous girl that threw these on with great abandon

Each pink ribbon is hand sewn into place with their ends left loose and free

This is somewhat outside of my usual realm so though I know these are at least turn of the century I cannot give an exact date - they could be far older

1960s Completely Covered Cabochon and Beaded Belt designer-john-galliano Made entirely of hand paintedThis adorable belt is a real showstopper. It is completely covered with plastic cabochon beads in turquoise and coral. Surrounding these are beads in purples and golds as well as those same two colors. At the front a dramatic fringe of bead work dangles and moves. It is like wearing a fabulous piece of jewellery around your waist. Hooks to close. I see no missing beads. The backing is separating from the front very slightly here and there at the edges
