The spoons were part of the contents of Dutton Manor, Lancashire, a large Victorian house built for the Fenton family by Isaac Taylor in 1872 in the Elizabethan style. Each spoon has an initial to the terminal and is reverse crested with a bird. All are clearly hallmarked with bottom struck marks for London 1742 by James Wilks.
