Amazing Baseball History Photo African American Players WICHITA KANSAS RATTLERS geisha if she had gotten aVery rare 1890s tintype showing two African American baseball players! These men were teammates on the Rattlers, an all black baseball team out of Wichita, Kansas, that operated around 1890 1900, right in the middle time frame of this c. 1895 image. The players are in full uniform with the seated one holding a bat. They are not identified, but here are some names of Rattlers who could be possibilities: Charley Strawn (Pitcher 1896 to 1897) Sam Collins
